This was an assignment I had done where I was tasked to create three menus for the Salt Line. An oyster bar restaurant located right on the waters edge of the Anacostia River in Washington DC.
We were provided all the information we needed and had the freedom to choose the layouts and the types of menus. We only had two major challenges, first of all we had to create a typographic layout for each menu that was not only functional, easy to edit and print, but also aesthetically pleasing. The second major challenge was that we could only utilize Adobe InDesign and its type setting tools; primarily, grids, global paragraph and character settings. The purpose of the assignment was to teach us to better utilize the program and its available tools.
